Film og TV"My god it's full of stars" er blandt Science-Fiction afficionados nok et af de bedst kendte citater og da efterfølgeren til den stilskabende 2001: A Space Odyssey kom i 1984 var der mange der var bange for om Peter Hyams kunne genskabe den samme visuelle billedstil som Stanley Kubrick gjorde i 1968. Til gengæld var der ingen der var bange for at Peter Hyams ville forsøge at genskabe den syrede og totalt uforståelige psykedeliske sekvens fra 2001. Udover at 2010 havde sin reele berettigelse som en to'er, der var trods alt skrevet en bog med samme titel, var der nok uafklarede spørgsmål i 2001 til at 2010 var en nødvendig efterfølger.

Film og TVFilmens instruktør, Rob Zombie, har kultstatus. Han stod blandt andet bag genindspilningen af Halloween og dens efterfølger, og har spillet i bandet White Zombie. Men man kan være kult på flere måder, og at dømme ud fra denne film er Rob det helt klart på den dårlige måde.
